If you don’t like guns… Don’t get one!

Well, I don’t think there’s much to say here. After the senseless death of the boy in Chicago, we need to ban deadly weapons. ALL OF THEM! If you don’t believe this will work, or better yet, if you DO believe this will work, please watch all three of these videos.
America, or, the U.S. I should say. Has been steadily slacking when it comes to educating it’s children. So, what’s Obama’s fix? Longer school days and shorter summers. He says that other countries have shorter summers, and their kids do better, so we should follow their ideas. Well, it all sounds good on paper, but do we need more fail or more proven education?
Asian countries do consistently test higher than us. However they have shorter school days than we do right now. So why copy something they aren’t doing? I think we need to look into where Obama came from and where he wants us to go. He’s from the inner-city where kids run a muck on the streets getting into trouble. I believe he wants to turn our schools into day care areas that watch these troubled kids.
Ahh, but who’s to pay for all of this? Well, you and me of course. Instead of making a more efficient system that doesn’t utterly fail, they want to just give us more of the same. More of the same sub-standard schooling. So what’s the answer? Well, there could be a few, however I think I have a good understanding of the right one for us.
Right now grade school preps you for high school, then high school preps you for college. Once you get into college you’ll repeat your last year of high school, and then move onto more interesting topics. Why are we still teaching kids that Columbus discovered America and that he was a hero? Why do we only teach our kids about 13 of the British colonies? Why do the kids only learn about three of the four states of matter? We start off by telling our kids one thing, and then changing it later on. Why not tell them how it was to start with?
I say we turn high school into college. The kids are old enough to grasp college level concepts and ideas. Then this would reserve college for a true higher learning. The system is already in place, the teachers already have the credentials. So why not step up our game and really put our kids into a learning environment and challenge them. We keep going backwards. ESL and Special Needs classes for those who can’t keep up. Dropping advanced placement classes because it’s “unfair” to those who can’t make the grade. Removing shop classes that teach much needed skills for life so we can fund these other lower standard classes.
Our country is in trouble, and it’s because we do not teach the importance of education. Screw the no child left behind. What about the millions being held back to support the one so he’s not left behind? We need to educate our kids and stop this nonsense! We should not be settling for sub-standard schooling. I urge you parents out there to think of your children’s education. Place them in schools with advanced placement classes, private schools that encourage higher standards, or home school so you can coach them towards the right path.
